Some examples:
* Streets in Closed company areas, bungalow parks and other access restricted areas.
* Roads only allowed for local traffic

* Hunting paths
* City center or other, like a promenade, where only can be driven at certain times.
* The Private roadtype may be used to prevent serious cut-through traffic.
 
1) As a general rule we don't map private accesses to houses, farms or other buildings. But, on locations where relative many cars have a short stop, think of loading/unloading, you can consider drawing a Private road from the main segment to the address, to prevent the negative influence on [[Speed|average speed]] of the main segment. ===Private road===
The sign "Eigen weg" [[File:Eigenweg.png|60px]] indicates that the road is privately owned. If the sign "Private road" is placed with a sign "No access for unauthorized persons Art 461" [[File:VTVO.jpg|80px]] only destination traffic is allowed to enter. Even if this sign is placed on its own without "Private road". A "Private road" without the no access sign is, if it does not fit the description above, simply a [[Street]] in Waze. 
 

===Large private areas===
On large areas, not accessible to everyone, it may be necessary for the navigation to distinguish between different possible routes through such an area. Making all roads within the area Private road will not work then. With nested constructions of PRs combined with other road types, the navigation through such an area can be guided. The USA wiki page [https://www.waze.com/wiki/USA/Private_Installations Private Installations] gives an extensive description of such a setup.
